Vacuum furnaces are ideal for industrial heating processes which require high part quality and heating consistency. Brazing or heat treating in a high vacuum environment offers a high degree of process control and produces exceptionally clean parts – free of oxidation and scaling.
In a vacuum system, parts are loaded into a steel chamber which is then pumped free of air and other gases. In contrast to flame heating and resistance heating, a vacuum furnace heats the entire part and not just the joint area.
Traditional Vacuum Furnaces are large monument structures powered by banks of electric heating elements. These large furnaces require several hours to achieve and maintain temperature.
Induction heating advantages:
- Energy saving
- Improve efficiency
- Reduce operating costs
- Provide an excellent example of lean, green technology
- Heat parts of virtually any shape
- Reduce cycle times
- Easy part loading and unloading
- Have a positive impact on the bottom line
- Maximum operator safety
- Improve work environment
- Offer a compact footprint that fits easily into a manufacturing cell
Some related industries to vacuum heating are aerospace, defense, medical, universities, research and development
